Project name: Development of bioeconomical model for sustainable use of biological resources in order to reduce climate changes and improve adaptation capacity (BIO-CLIMATE)

Project aim: The aim of the proposed study is to develop scientifically-based tool for the modelling, medium/long term (2030/2050) simulation, and policy assessment of Latvian bioeconomy and climate.

Project number: 2/EEZLV02/14/GS/033

Time: 01.05.2015. – 30.04.2016 (12 months)

Budget: 160932.00 EUR

Project Coordinator: Riga Technical University, Institute of Energy Systems and Environment

Project Partner: University of Bergen (Norway)

Specific objectives of the project: The central axis of project is development of dynamic hypothesis, system dynamics model building, testing and simulation. It will be used to simulate Latvia’s existing socio-economic structure as well as its transfer to bio-economy by implementing different policy tools. There are also supporting activities to gather scientifically proved information and data for the system dynamics model. Publicity will be ensured by information dissemination activities.
